Neptune's transition into the sign of Aries: courage to live your vision

Direction of change: from "I let go" to "I actively engage"
On January 26, 2026, Neptune enters the sign of Aries, beginning its new 165-year cycle. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac mandala. Neptune spends on average about 13–14 years in each zodiac sign. This is not a short-term planetary transit or a quick one-off astrological event. It is a long-term shift in the direction of the collective consciousness and a reconfiguration of worldview, which manifests less through external events and more by touching the deep layers of inner orientation, values, faith, and meaning.
Neptune’s journey through the signs of the Zodiac marks periods when what humanity believes, what it considers meaningful, and the visions that guide its choices all change. Neptune’s transition from the last sign of the Zodiac (Pisces) to the first (Aries) opens an entirely new shift in the direction of consciousness and a new phase of experience. The experience accumulated in Pisces begins to manifest in Aries as a fresh impulse for initiatives: from "Let go" to "Act!“; from reflection to active engagement.
Neptune in astrology: the planet of faith, visions, and illusions
In astrology, Neptune is associated with the collective unconscious, spiritual and transcendent experiences, ideals, visions, and a vivid imagination, uplifting creativity, sensitivity and compassion, and altruism. However, Neptune is also linked to illusions, self-deception, confusion, projections or distortions of reality, a victim mentality or addictions, and toxicity.
Neptune often manifests as an atmosphere, a collective state or mood, an overall direction. Neptune’s energetic influence is not instantaneous or concrete; its themes unfold gradually over several years, often through subtle inner shifts. It has more to do with how individuals and society relate to the inner world, to the entirety of meaning and intuition. It reveals what we believe in, even if it’s irrational or not consciously articulated. Therefore, Neptune is closely linked to myths, the language of symbols, ideologies, religions, collective ideals and, of course—their shadows.
Neptune’s Journey Through Pisces: Dissolving Boundaries or a Mass Spiritual Awakening?
Since 2011, Neptune has been traveling through the sign of Pisces. It is the last sign of the Zodiac, associated with completion, merging with the One, but also with the chaotic dissolution of boundaries. During this period, on a collective level, sensitivity deepened; the realm of feelings and emotions unfolded; altruism grew; inner wounds and outer suffering were laid bare; global empathy expanded. This cycle taught compassion, but also showed that feeling alone is not enough. There was also a rise in information noise, disorientation, and instability. The risk of getting lost in both personal and collective illusions increased; it became harder to discern what is real and what is projection; at the same time, issues of burnout, victim–savior dynamics, guilt, self-sacrifice, and self-worth became more pronounced. Esotericism, mysticism, spiritual practices and teachings became widely accessible, yet their superficiality, commercialization, and idealization also came to the fore.
Look back on your journey since 2011. How has your inner world changed?
Neptune's journey through Aries: the rebirth of the new "I"
In astrology, the sign of Aries symbolizes the first impulse of pure consciousness and will: birth, instinctive action. Aries energy is associated with courage, drive, and initiative. It’s a sign where action matters more than reflection: if you don’t go first, you risk becoming the consequence of others’ choices.
Unlike Pisces, Aries doesn’t dissolve into another person or merge with the collective. It is self-reliant, marked by strength, determination, willpower, and leadership. But this energy isn’t yet mature: learning comes through personal experience, through trial and error. Its shadow side includes aggression, impatience, a reckless certainty of being right, rigidity, and hot-headed impulsiveness.
Neptune’s transit through the sign of Aries until 2038 changes the nature of the inner world and spiritual experience: faith and the inner world will take on a material body, an expression in action, or a tangible form. Abstract ideals and theoretical postulates will no longer be able to merely "float" in indeterminacy: they will be tested through decisions, initiatives, and personal responsibility. Everyday life will become the arena for embodying spiritual ideas and inner values.
If, during the Pisces period, faith was lived more inwardly—felt intuitively and subtly—then during Neptune’s transit through Aries it becomes an impulse to act. Values will be recognized not through declarations or intentions, but through how they are put into practice in everyday life.
Neptune already made a brief journey through Aries in 2025 from April until the end of October. Then, due to its retrograde motion, it briefly returned to Pisces. So we were at least able to dip a toe into the first hints of this energy. Let’s recall the trends from that period last year.
During this 13-year period, we will likely see more expressions of authentic idealism and more sharing of personal experience. We may see new types of leaders, a surge in pacifist activism, an upswing in humanitarian work, defenders of a mission or of idealism—champions of good. There may be more courage to live by one’s values.
Pioneers of a new consciousness may come to the fore—creators, researchers, and practitioners who integrate science, spirituality, psychology, and creativity. A breakthrough is likely in new spiritual directions, forms of meditation, and consciousness research, along with restorative energy therapies and psychological and neuro-spiritual practices that seek to unite intuition, experience, and scientific grounding. Cultural expression may also shift: new forms of art, film, music, virtual reality, and science fiction may emerge.
However, Neptune in Aries also has a pronounced shadow potential: impulsive faith can turn into fanaticism, and idealism into ideological blindness or even “holy war” narratives, where aggression is justified by higher aims. One can become lost amid illusions, unrecognizable content, or disinformation landscapes. A conflict may emerge between personal vision, a strengthening sense of individual responsibility, and collective reality. It is important to understand that Neptune’s symbolism does not provide a single truth, but reveals where and how we project our hopes and ideals—as well as our illusions and fears.
As Neptune travels through Aries, it will continually pose a fundamental question: do my actions arise from authentic inner intuition, or from an illusory self-image? During this period, we will learn to distinguish the true primordial life impulse from defensive reactions, programming, and shadows.
That said, for the first few years of Neptune’s journey through Aries, Saturn’s presence in the same sign will accompany it, so the beginning of this transit will be somewhat different from Neptune’s usual expression. Saturn in Aries will bring more structure, boundaries, and a stronger "reality check" principle to Neptune’s idealism.
Overall, throughout the 13-year period, it’s important to maintain a balance between inspiration and practicality. Not only dream boldly, but also boldly bring your visions to life. Create intuitively, but act mindfully. It’s especially important to protect your mental and emotional energy, be discerning about information sources, and avoid excess noise that blurs the clarity of your intuition. Seek a connection with the Source of Spirit—this will provide direction and inner clarity, helping you distinguish a true impulse from an illusion.
It's time to dare to live your authentic life.
