The name of this wonderful Tarot deck is associated with the name of Miss Lenormand – the pseudonym of Marie Anne Lenormand (Alençon, 1768 – Paris, 1843), a famous French fortune teller who is historically remembered as the card reader for Josephine Beauharnais, the first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Although Miss Lenormand never created a deck of cards herself, in the mid-19th century many French and German card makers began producing divination decks named in honor of this most famous modern Sibyl.
The “Lenormand Tarot” deck is based on older decks whose images directly depict a wide range of life situations.
The deck contains 78 cards and a user guide (in English).
