Tarot cards ETHEREAL VISIONS - ILLUMINATED TAROT

Art Nouveau, Liberty, Modern Style, Jugendstil — these are different names used around the world to describe the same style that emerged in Europe and the USA in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The term Liberty (derived from the surname of the owner of a furniture company operating in London) is most commonly used in Italy. This style is also called floral, because of its distinctive features: curved, plant-inspired lines, stylized forms rich in symbolic hints, used in asymmetrical, two-dimensional decorations.

This style created a unified and original artistic atmosphere in Europe. It sought to unite different art forms, going beyond traditional academic hierarchies, encouraged the connection between art and modern civilization and industrial production, and, full of idealistic belief, raised an important social question — to make art accessible to everyone.

Seeking the complete integration of art into everyday life, Art Nouveau embraced all areas: from architecture to interiors, from graphics to the design of the smallest household objects. It was precisely from this perspective that Antonella Castelli created this wonderful tarot deck, in which she managed to combine the mystery and symbolism of an ancient divination tool with elegant, light Liberty graphics.
